Visitor Guidelines
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all. To help ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that all visitors follow the guidelines outlined below. Guests who violate the visitor guidelines may be asked to leave the property with the refusal or revoking of admission.
Be Respectful
Please be kind and treat museum staff and fellow visitors with courtesy and respect. Any language or behavior that is disrespectful, threatening, or profane is strictly prohibited.
Security screening is required to access Lucas Plaza, the Education Lobby, and museum. Should any prohibited items (see below) be discovered during screening, visitors may be asked to leave the premises and/or law enforcement may be contacted.
What’s Not Allowed
The following are not permitted anywhere on museum and park property:
Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping; alcohol; and illegal substances.
Weapons, fireworks, or hazardous materials.
Aerosol cans, paint, or scissors.
Running, rough play, blocking walkways, or sleeping on the premises.
Unauthorized selling, advertising, or other commercial activity.
Pets (with the exception of leashed ADA-trained service animals).
Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, drones, or kites (mobility aids are always welcome).
Clothing with violent or inappropriate themes or imagery.
Costumes are welcome. However, visitors aged 13 and older may not wear masks or face paint that obscures the face. Large props, including lightsabers, or bulky costume elements, must be checked at the Checkroom. Costumes that drag on the ground or trail behind are not allowed.
Photography and Filming
Flash photography.
Do not photograph areas with posted “No Photography” signs.
Commercial photography, videography, drone use, or equipment such as tripods and lighting rigs require written approval in advance.
Photographs and videos taken at the museum or in the park may not be sold or used for commercial purposes.
Audio or video recording is not permitted in museum theaters, including wearable technology.
Inside the Museum
Bags larger than 11 × 16.5 × 8 in (45 x 28 x 20 cm). The Checkroom is available for coats and small personal items only. The Checkroom is unable to accommodate luggage or oversized items.
Outside food and beverage. Food and beverages are not allowed in the galleries, library, theaters, or outside designated areas of restaurant and cafe. Bottled water for medical needs is permitted.
Only pencils may be used for sketching. The use of pens, charcoal, markers, paints, adhesives, or other art materials is not permitted.
In the Park and Gardens
Touching or climbing sculptures.
Entering fountains.
Picking plants or flowers is not permitted.
Commercial group exercise activities and team sports.
Tables, chairs, and furniture, except for items that support accessibility needs. Picnic blankets are allowed.
